How I Quit My Day Job at 25
"Better early than later...or never" I said to myself while sitting at my desk in 2008.
There's a lot of behind-the-scenes work that I do which guided me to where I'm at today. I read a lot of business books, invest in tools/programs that will improve the way I work and most recently I'm currently enrolled in a sales training course with a Certified Management Consultant & Certified Process Professional - Master who is based in Tokyo (more about this person later).
Anyways these are the books that I read early on and made me take the leap to run my own show at 25:
1. Think & Grow Rich (by Napolean Hill)
2. The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich (by Timothy Ferriss)
3. Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity (by David Allen)
I still continue to re-read these books until today because there's a whole lot of good stuff in these paperbacks and it's easy to forget some of the core contents in there.
Hope this will help some of you out who is considering on running their own business whether in photography, video, retail, food, etc.
Some G.V.G.V. Fashion Photos for Sunday
This past week was the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo 2012-13 Autumn/Winter collection. Among the several brands showcasing their newest stuff on the runways all through out different venues in Tokyo, the brand G.V.G.V. has always been a favorite of mine to photograph. Below are some shots for you to enjoy on a Sunday.
How We Photographers Actually Spend Our Time
Here's a great little infographic on how others think we photographers spend our time compared with the actual reality of being a professional photographer. Thought it was all fun and games? Think again.
