Valuable Career Advice for Photographers

Gregory Heisler is among one of my favorite photographers and I had the pleasure of meeting him during an event in Singapore a few months back. For those of you who aren't familiar with Gregory's work, go here.

In this video Gregory talks about some pretty important stuff that all photographers should be aware of and that it's not just all about pressing that shutter button on your fancy camera.

Concrete Jungle

Traveling is fun. I used to not be able to do that much when I had a regular job that allowed something like 14 days a year. Now that I look back at that, I can't understand why some companies give employees only such little time to spend with their own personal lives. Most spend the majority of the time working to even think about their own life.

Here's one from Singapore just the other month that I find pretty fascinating. I didn't realize it's required by Singapore law to have some form of rooftop or vertical greenery. A perfect example of a concrete jungle in the city.

Don't Become a Victim of the Lost Generation

After watching photographer Kevin Gilbert’s TEDx talk, it reminded me how I personally fell into this category of “The lost Generation” due to theft.

As careful as I am with all my gear, I never thought it could happen to me but unfortunately it did. My MacBook Pro with a decent chunk of important photographic memories gone. Long gone.

Don’t become a victim of losing your data and let Kevin’s talk serve you as a friendly reminder!

A Collective of Cars in Motion

Shot a lot of different cars over the course of time. They're fun, loud, fast, and take a bit of time and patience to work with. Unlike the typical news work, features take some planning to do because these magazines put their money down on me to travel to distant places on getting the entire shoot right.

All of these cars below were photographed for various magazines in different parts of Japan. Here are some of my personal favorites:
