What a better way to start the year with a fresh new body. A 5D Mark III body. I held off on getting this for a while but as I made it through another year of photography turbulence, I thought this would be a good time to invest in better equipment that would allow me to make my job easier. Not better, but easier. The latest and greatest photo equipment doesn't make you a better photographer. It just makes your job a little easier to some extent.
It hasn't even been a year since when I first picked up the 6D but I felt that I put it through good working use to convince myself that it was time for a replacement. There were some things I found quite annoying especially when shooting news. Don't get me wrong though, I always got the job done on its 11-point AF system, just that it took extra time and extra patience to get the shots done. I felt that the AF wasn't up to my expectations that I was initially hoping for before I bought it and I never could get used to the navigation layout on the back of the camera. Also to mention that the camera only takes SD cards was another thing that sucks. Image quality wise, the 6d is right next to the 5D Mark III, but just the lack of those certain features would be enough to make a working photographer spend the extra money on the III or something greater.
